Tips for Email Security

At a minimum, you should follow these rules to avoid email scams, malware, and ransomware.

• Don't download attachments  that you were not expecting.
• Don't take action on requests for financial transactions without first verifying the request in person or via phone.
• Don't click on any links in emails especially any that takes you to a log-in page, instead open a new tab, type in the link, then log-in from there.
• Use unique passwords for all of your accounts. You can use a password manager, such as LastPass to manage your password and generate new, unique passwords. It can even help you find websites where you've used the same password.
